In May of 2018, Conservation Officers received a TIP of several people taking a overlimit of crappies on Sisseton Lake near Fairmont, MN. This lead them to a residence where a very large number of fish where located.

Turn In Poachers on Lakeland Currents
A new phone app allows people to submit reports about someone who may be poaching. Those behind the app in nonprofit Turn in Poachers (TIP) say the poaching problem in the state “huge.” Specifically designed to help crack down on poaching, the new app is gaining traction. The app is just another tool to help get more officers involved in curbing the illegal activity. TIP's partnership with the DNR goes hand in hand with our work. Our story on KSTP Eyewitness News
DNR app helps people take active role in protecting game, fish resources.
The app, which launched last fall, allows users to anonymously report potential game and fish violations from their cell phones. The free app is available for download via the Google Play or iTunes App stores. This app adds to the many ways all people can help ensure future generations have the opportunity to enjoy the things we do today.
