This large black bear was taken in Becker county after it wandered into an individual's back yard.  It was not causing damage or harm.  The violator had no license to harvest a bear.  After killing the bear, he went to purchase a "no quota" license, but lives in a limited quota area.

This Lake Sturgeon was taken illegally from the Rainy River near Baudette.  The capture of this violator was the result of a TIP call.

HOW DO I REPORT A VIOLATION?

If you have information of any kind that could help with a natural resource violation you can use any of three methods:

You can remain ANONYMOUS. 
You may request a reward following a conviction of a crime.  Rewards range from $25 to $250.  
If the incident is associated with a commercial violation, it can be as high as $1,000
​When the report is made, the information will be transferred to a Minnesota Conservation Officer. 
​If your information is an emergency and human life is in jeopardy, please call 911 to have your local emergency services respond.

The TIP Board of Directors meetings are held quarterly on the third Tuesday of the months of
March, June, September, and December** (annual meeting- all members welcome)
​ at the Turn In Poachers headquarters in Brainerd. 
Regular Board Meetings are at 6:00 P.M. 

The TIP Hotline is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our hours of operation vary to our organizational structure.  We are available by appointment by contacting us through email or leaving a message.
